Very snazzy, Barbara! It took a while to load, though, and clicking on the book-jacket took me to http://www.jpowered.com which probably wasn't what you intended. [This message has been edited by Andrew (edited 07-09-2001).]

Nice applet....where'd you get it? (The fade, that is)
Oh, the menu bar is a table, not an applet

Did your browser crash? That's what concerns me, with any java script. And yes, it's a slow loader, because I have so many graphics in the "fader" script. I may have to take some of them out -- which kind of defeats the point of having all my book covers rotating on the main page.
The link to jpowered.com is built into the script -- the price of a "free" javascript. I may cheat and delete it. The content of my page won't change much; I just want a different look.

The applet, whatever it was, took forever to load, and I don't know if it did anything or not. What was it supposed to do? I closed my eyes, put my head in my hands, and dozed off for a few seconds, and missed whatever it was supposed to do.

Pete, I suspect your browser is the acid test. If it didn't crash, then the applet's safe.
The applet is a "fader"; one book cover fades into another.

While Netscape is by no means perfect, it usually suffices. It gets testy about extreme Java scripts, I believe.
The "fader" applet worked as advertised, by the way.

One source I use for applets doesn't "charge" anything, but asks that you make a donation to a children's charity in Britain. Needless to say, I give him a link, too. http://www.demon.co.uk/davidg/

It's cute, but it also took over a minute to download...
