Owww! Mary SUE, Mary SUE! I thought I'd stopped making that mistake. But no, B7's last episode was in 1981, so that's just 29 years. "Just"??? That's a generation ago, wow.

Most likely it's a word Barbara just made up. It's like geekspeak or jockspeak. "Skiffy" is the way sci-fi is pronounced by people who don't like sigh-fie.

So how do you pronounce it, Austin?

Frankly, I don't like either term. But if I was backed into a corner, I'd go with skiffy.

Stargate: Universe wasn't bad last night. And what they thought was a glitch in the technology turned out not to be, so that was a nice change.

The guy playing Eli reminds me of a young Saul Rubinek. I think maybe he's supposed to.

Hey, I like the new guy! And the story was a good one, too. Very Who-ish.

There'll be another attempt at Riverworld tonight on SyFy. Four hours long! I plan to tape it and decide later how much of I want to watch.

Probably unsurprisingly, the riverbank shown in the previews looks like areas around Vancouver, BC that show up in other SyFy movies, and the characters look just like some of the characters on BSG, Smallville, V, and other shows filmed in Vancouver. I love Vancouver, but I've never seen any aliens there. Must look harder, next time I'm there.

Ha. In Canada, WE are the aliens. That seems like the right approach to Riverworld...record it, decide later. But the first attempt was so bad that this new version has got to be an improvement.

And I like the new kid Dr. Who too. He seems more attuned to the whimsy of the role than anyone since Tom Baker. I hope he has staying power.
