is an "in" opera about opera, and all the characters are types, not individuals. Taupe was onstage only a few minutes...is that why he's your favorite, Andrew?
Unfortunately, the Taupe in the simulcast was the one weak spot in the cast. The guy just didn't have the voice to match the other singers. Frankly, I have to say I like the idea of this opera better than I like the opera itself. And am I the only one who found the words-vs.-music debate somewhat simplistic?
