That's my Gemini twin, Clint Eastwood, in "Dirty Harry."

Here's one that is so appropriate for my own present situation I have to share it:

"This is not a retirement home, it is a madhouse!"

Ernie Hudson in Ghost Busters.

"My friend, Thomas Jefferson is an American saint because he wrote the words 'All men are created equal,' words he clearly didn't believe since he allowed his own children to live in slavery. He's a rich wine snob who's sick of paying taxes to the Brits. So, yeah, he writes some lovely words and aroused the rabble and they went and died for those words while he sat back and drank his wine and fucked his slave girl. This guy wants to tell me we're living in a community? Don't make me laugh. I'm living in America, and in America you're on your own. America's not a country. It's a business. Now fuckin' pay me."

Brad Pitt, Killing them Softly, screenplay by Andrew Dominik, after the novel Cogan's Trade, by George V. Higgins. Reported to be the worse movie ever made.

That's similar to what's been said about The Counselor, another Brad Pitt movie. In fact, both movies are extremely well done, but they both say things so unpalatable that audiences are rejecting them out of hand. For instance, The Counselor says it's neither governments nor corporations that run the world, it's the drug cartels. And nobody wants to believe that.

Pete, how about a new quote?

Claude Rains in Casablanca.

"The 9000 series is the most reliable computer ever made. No 9000 computer has ever made a mistake or distorted information. We are all, by any practical definition of the words, foolproof and incapable of error."

Douglas Rain, the voice of HAL in 2001: A Space Odyssey.

"It says here the retail industry does 50% of its business between December 1st and December 25th. That's half a year's business in one month's time. It seems to me, an intelligent country would legislate a second such gift-giving holiday. Create, say, a Christmas 2, late May, early June, to further stimulate growth."

Danny Trejo in Reindeer Games.

"What I want from each and every one of you is a hard-target search of every gas station, residence, warehouse, farmhouse, henhouse, outhouse, and doghouse in that area."
